Why Parents Come First
Creating the Best Start for Your Child
When you’re thinking about craniosacral therapy for your child, it’s natural to want to make the right decision for them.
You might be wondering what the session will feel like, how it works, or whether your child will settle.
To support your child in the best possible way, I always begin with you.
This applies whether your child is a newborn, a toddler, or a teenager.
Why This Matters
Craniosacral therapy is very gentle, subtle, and often quite different from what people expect. It’s not something that can be fully understood just by explanation — it needs to be experienced.
When parents haven’t experienced it themselves, it often leads to uncertainty during the session. Questions arise in the moment, attention shifts, and instead of being fully present, there can be a sense of watching, analysing, or trying to work it out.
Children feel this.
They are highly sensitive to their parent’s state, and even quiet uncertainty can make it harder for them to settle and relax.

Your Presence Makes a Difference
During a child’s session, your role is not to observe or evaluate — it’s simply to be present.
When you’ve already had your own session, something shifts. You understand the pace, the stillness, and the subtlety. You know there’s nothing to “figure out.”
That understanding allows you to relax.
And when you relax, your child can too.
It Creates a Better Experience for Your Child
When parents come in already familiar with the work:
-
There are fewer interruptions during the session
-
The space stays calm and settled
-
Your child feels safer and more supported
It allows me to fully focus on your child, and for your child to receive the session without distraction.
It Supports You Too
Very often, parents carry stress, tension, or simply the emotional weight of wanting to help their child.
Your session is not just a “requirement” — it’s also an opportunity for you to slow down, reset, and be supported.
And that, in itself, can have a positive impact on your child.
It Supports Your Child’s Session
When you’ve experienced the work yourself, you come in more settled, more trusting, and more present. That alone can make a significant difference to how your child receives their first session.
It becomes a more connected, calm, and supportive experience — for both of you.
